Spraying 1" of Closed Cell Foam, is it a mistake?
Ive been working with my father for 3 years spraying closed cell foam. Throughout these years, he's absolutely refused to spray 1" of material on any structure because it is not a sufficient vapor barrier. He says it would "sweat" with a substantial change in temperature from inside the structure to outside. Ive been asked countless times if I would just spray an inch to eliminate air infiltration and add fiber glass. Simple structures like small shop additions and storage barns. Against what I have learned, should I do as the customer asks in these situations or just allow them to have some one else do it that is willing. It seems other installers in the area are willing to spray an inch. If an inch is just too light, would 1 1/2 inches make a difference? Thanks. Shane Barber
