Shield Design Idea
Back in the day we used folded-flat cardboard boxes as shield when spraying cutback asphalt at roof edges. The trick was to have the shield guy start the shield about 1/2 way up on the roof edge so that as the asphalt of on the shield the shield was gradually raised as the shield guy walked backwards with it. This way you didn't end up with the shield wiping fresh asphalt on the facia.

So, when spraying foam at roof edges I envision a roughly 6' x 8' shield made of PVC and vinyl tarp or burlap as usual. What I think might help is to add another 6" section on the bottom, angled inward at a 45 degree angle. This additional angled piece wold have PVC caps so as to slide easily against the side of the building.

The concept is to have the angled section hold the shield a few inches away from the edge/side of roof/gravel stop so as to prevent wet foam from getting on thee side.

Dumb idea?
