Sealing Recessed Lights and ERV Vents in Second Floor Bathrooms with Unvented Attic
I have 4 inches of closed cell foam on rafters of my roof (unvented attic), with 3 inches of CC foam in exterior walls of my house. Should I put can light covers over the recessed bathroom lights in the attic (from the second floor bathrooms) and foam around them to keep the moisture contained to the bathrooms?
I have balanced ERV system with outflow vents in each bathroom. Those are right next to the can lights and will be getting sealed in floor of attic.
Some people I have spoken to recommend that the "Hot Roof" model allow for free flow of air from the second floor to the attic; but what about excess moisture from the bathrooms (I have 3 women in my house).
