Scarfer
Where can I find a good scarfer to remove 1/2" to 1" of foam and coatings off of a spray foam roof?

Also, what is the best way to contain the bits of foam and coating that is being taken off?

Hi Steve

Call Dave @ Sprayworks 330-587-4141. They have one that I used on a small job they might sell or at least know where to buy one.

If the foam is wet (as it was in my case) the bits of foam can simply be swept and bagged. If the foam is dry you'll be cleaning up the parking lot. I have a small vac unit I run from the ground for dry materials.

You can also look at one of those tow behind leaf vacs like we got cheap at a garage sale or I have also looked at a dust vac like you see at wood shops. They can handle bigger pieces of foam and less emptying of the containers. I love the leaf vac we got since it has an 8in tube and a huge capacity that we can then just dump to a pile to bag or even blow strait to a big dumpster in some cases.

A Billy Goat Vacuum works great on a roof to suck up foam from a scarfer.
