new construction foam depth
i am getting ready to insulate my new house. how thick should i have my walls sprayed with 2lb closed cell foam? the house is 2/6 construction with 1 inch of rigid foam as sheathing. i assume the sheathing will allow me to use less sprayin and still achieve desired insulation values. i am thinking of using about 2.5 inches of sprayin foam. i live in a cold climate.the brand is insulstar. is that a good product? |

this is a great app for the cold climate... the 2.5" cc over the 1" rigid will give you a great wall insulation system. you will be rewarded with the best thermal performance available to you. insulstar is a good product. but only as good as the installer. dont forget to address the attic/lid. at least seal the flat drywall lids to complete the envelope. good luck with your project |

InsulStar works well. We are gold Star applicators of it. 2.5" will be your best friend. It's tough stuff after it cures. That's good. Regards, oG |
