MACS ....I am going to have to put you on payroll
Hi DennisI really appreciate your answers concerning my roofing questions. Is there a way to deal with liquified tar rather than removing. Is there something that can be added to harden the material to where foam won't fail if sprayed on. I am quoting a full tear off with 1 1/2 foam and silicone coating for a 15 year manafacturers warranty and am trying to save the customer money before I do a full tear off. Do I have any other alternatives besides removing the liquified tar? Thanks Steve |

Steve One way to deal with low melt asphalt is to cover it with some (non foam) type of board stock. OSB or fiber board works well. Screw it down, prime and foam it. You might want to install a vent or two just to be safe. By the way, we are for hire. We do occasionally help out other contractors with their roofs and tank projects. Steve Received your e-mail but was unable to send a reply. To answer your question - We've done this several times in the past and never had any problem getting a warranty. But, check with your supplier just to be sure. Who's silicone you are using, are you using granules too? Dennis |

Chemshield 2200, which is manafactured by Bayer. We won't be using granules on this particular job. |
