In fact, we have had 1 company refuse to renew the policy after a foam roof was applied, due to increased chance of hail damage. What are your thoughts on heading this off? I can see powers-that-be in the roofing industry glomming onto this because they generally don't like foam roofs.

Switch to State Farm. They love SPF Roofs and you might even get a discount for having one.
