H-25 help!!!!!!!!
Ok, we are spraying 2lb closed cell with the reactor H-25 and a gap pro gun. Today, everything was fine and then all the sudden lost B material. Transfer pump is working fine, plenty of material. Gun is 2 weeks old, and was torn apart after this happened with no problems found. When you turn on the proportioner, the A side jumps to 2500psi and the B side does not move and stays around 400psi. There is plenty of pressure through the transfer lines but we can not get it to give us equal hose pressure. We are thinking it is in the B side of the hydraulic pump in the proportioner. The machine is about a year and a half old. Guess we will be using the old reliable H-2 for a while till we slow down enough to get it fixed. Thanks in advance for any help with this!!!

Might as well go ahead and tear into the "B" side proportioner. It's not in the hydraulics. Could be a broken piston on the pump shaft. Had this happen to a new 20/35 at the first of this year. If the "B" side is not makeing any pressure, that is probably your problem. Or could be tore seals. Either way, your going to have to tear in to her. It's not a big problem. Just make sure that you lay all the parts out in the order that they go back. Get new seal kits for it as well.

What was coming out of the gun before this happened?? You cannot diagnos a problem if you do not know what is coming out of the gun! Also blead the system to make sure there is no air in the system! Do this at low pressure and you can what the pump work.

Normally loss of pressure is a restriction before the proportioner or high pressure on the opposite side, which would be your gun.Lets say your B side gauge reads 500 and your A side reads 2000,you either have a restriction on the B side (clogged filter, clogged transfer pump, proportioning pump)or there is a restriction on the A side at your gun not allowing material to come out. What material was coming out of gun? If it was B material your pressure would drop because that is the only thing flowing through the gun and A side would rise.We tend to look at where the loss is instead of the gain.Remember that ISO is probably 80% of the problem child because of it's sensitvity to moisture and air,it crystilizes.
Also I don't know what area you are in ,but if it is cold check your temperatures, you may have to increase the temps.or warm the material.
Anyway my two cents,1-888-920-1313.

Everything was fine, we had been spraying for about 2 hours and then all of the sudden we lost B side. We have checked the screens in both the proportioner and the gun and both look good. We have bleed the system with the proportioner off and the transfer pumps on and they work as expected. This is definitely a machine problem. As soon as you turn the machine on before you can even get to the gun, A side goes to 2500 psi and B side does not move and stays at about 500psi. It then throws an E24 code (Pressure imbalance) and shuts itself down.

You could have a piece of something that somehow got by your prefilter and is preventing one of the balls inside of your pump from seating properly. You could possibly fix it without a rebuild kit, but I would have one on hand just in case.

Just like I said, Go ahead and get new seals for your pump and tear into her and take a look see. Could be a ball stuck open or worse a broken piston where it connects to the shaft. The pump is not a difficult item to work on. Just make sure that you keep everything organized. Hope that you get her fixed. Keep us posted and let us know what the problem was. Hope it is just something simple. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help everyone. We have rebuilt the pump assembly on our h-2 machine so I know we can do this one, it just sucks because we are so busy. Once we take a break for thanksgiving, we will have worked 17 days straight and had only 2 days off in the last month. I will sure let you know what we find. Thanks again.

Well, we had a chance to look at the machine again today and found that the pin that holds the arms from the hydraulic pump to the B side pump was sheered off. Easy fix, just wish we could have found it earlier. We made sure the B side pump moves still so parts are on order and that trailer should be back in business after thanksgiving. Once again, thanks for the help everyone!!
