DEMILEC (USA) LLC.® Receives GREENGUARD Certifications for Environmentally Friendly Spray Foam Insulation

August 14, 2008 - Arlington, TX - DEMILEC (USA) LLC.®’s HEATLOK SOY® spray foam insulation has received multiple GREENGUARD certifications because of its ability to meet stringent emission standards. DEMILEC (USA), which is based in Arlington, TX, is an international manufacturer and distributor of spray foam insulations.

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) awarded its coveted GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and the more-stringent GREENGUARD Children and SchoolsSM certifications to HEATLOK SOY® because it promotes and protects indoor air quality by creating an airtight glove around the building that blocks dust, dirt and allergens from permeating the walls. Since HEATLOK SOY® and other DEMILEC (USA)’s spray foam insulations never deteriorate or decompose, they also contribute to a healthy indoor environment because they don’t have a high level of emissions, which would contribute to poor indoor air quality inside the structure.

HEATLOK SOY® is a closed-cell, rigid spray foam insulation that uses recycled plastic materials and soy oil to create its polyurethane base.

To achieve GREENGUARD Certification, a product must undergo rigorous emissions testing by an independent laboratory using testing guidelines issued by GEI. GEI is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that certifies building products and materials, and sets worldwide standards for safe emissions levels.

“GREENGUARD Certification is an important recognition of HEATLOK SOY®’s ability to create a healthier, cleaner, quieter environment in residential and commercial buildings,” said Dave Lall, Vice President and General Manager of DEMILEC (USA). “This type of recognition sends an important signal to homeowners, builders and contractors that they can rely on HEATLOK SOY® to create buildings that contribute to their health and well-being, as well as to the betterment of the environment.”

DEMILEC (USA) LLC.® is a manufacturer and distributor of a line of spray foam insulation products that include environmentally friendly products and brands such as SEALECTION® 500, SEALECTION Agribalance® and HEATLOK SOY®. Following guidelines established by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), DEMILEC (USA) has developed Green spray foam insulation products that exceed the standards of the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

Founded in 2001, GEI is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification programs. The Institute’s mission is to protect human health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air that people breathe. As an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer, GEI establishes acceptable standards for building materials, interior products, electronic equipment, indoor  environment and buildings. GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of Green building programs, including the United States Green Building Council’s (USBGC) LEED®.
