DALLAS, TX–October 5, 2012–The Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA) is currently hosting its 2012 Conference and Trade Show. "A Home for All Seasons" is the theme for the three-day event, which is being held at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. This year's turnout marks an all-time high for both exhibitors and attendees, and the records are welcome news in light of the current recession.
Day 1, October 4, featured the ICAA committee meetings, which included presentations from CPI Director Lee Salamone about the organization's Spray Polyurethane Foam Health and Safety Program; Fomo Vice President Sara Jonas on the best practices for working low-pressure spray foam; and SPFA Technical director Rick Duncan with a thorough overview of unvented attics installed with spray foam.
Later on, breakout sessions included a recap of the major changes to the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code and a introduction to implementing social media in the marketing efforts of insulation contractors. Finally, the trade show hosted the grand opening event in the exhibition hall, where trade show attendees mixed and mingled before the lively, country music-tinged Lone Star Gala Dinner.
In addition to the ongoing exhibitions, the second day, October 5, featured the annual meeting opening ceremony, with an address by ICAA President Kevin Kinzler. ICAA Executive Director Michael Kwart received recognition for his 20 years with the organization. The annual meeting also featured several presentations, including a legislative update by CNAIMA's Kevin Koonce on topics like tax credits and the SAVE Act, as well as a primer on spray foam application quality and efficiency by Mason Knowles.
The conference and trade show wraps up tomorrow, October 6, with a panel discussion on tips for operating an insulation business and a presentation on business mistakes to avoid in the insulation industry.
